As a Pharmacognosist, I have been involved in academia, food medicine, nutrition, nutritional biochemistry, herbal health, and scientific research (clinical & pre-clinical) for almost 20 years. I hold a USA patent in nutraceuticals and functional foods for Diabetes & Hypertension; and various peer-reviewed publications and presentations on medicinal plants research and health. Additionally, I served as the Executive Director for the largest independent food bank in Atlantic Canada.
